FARGO (KFGO) – A man who caused thousands of dollars in damage to internet and cable lines in Fargo in August has been sentenced to 180 days in jail.
Timothy Windels pleaded guilty and admitted to using an angle grinder to cut Midco lines at seven locations around Fargo causing significant outages to residential and business customers.
Windels was arrested on Aug. 28 and had an angle grinder with him.
Some of the businesses affected were Community Family Market, Rodeway Inn, Northwest Pipe Fittings, and Larson Welding and Machine Company. Windels was also seen tampering with an electrical box at the federal courthouse in north Fargo.
Windels has been in the Cass County jail since his arrest and was given credit for time served. He will be on probation for a year and a half after his release and must also pay nearly $4,000 in restitution and fines.
